Twins Beat Detroit 6-3, Complete The First Half

(Sports Network) – Michael Cuddyer went 2-for-3 with a two-run double and scored a run, as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Detroit Tigers, 6-3, in the finale of a three-game series at Comerica Park.

Jason Kubel chipped in with a pair of hits and an RBI, while Danny Valencia contributed a run-scoring double for Minnesota, which snapped a four-game slide and won for only the second time in eight games overall.

The Twins are now 46-42 and in third place in the American League Central heading into the All-Star break.

Carl Pavano (10-6) picked up the win after tossing an effective 7 2/3 innings. The veteran right-hander yielded three runs on six hits, struck out six and walked one. Jon Rauch locked the game down with a scoreless ninth to record his 20th save of the season.
