Royce White Heading To Iowa State

Myron P. Medcalf of the Star-Tribune is reporting that Gophers’ forward Royce White has signed a “financial agreement” with Iowa State University.

White, the winner of Minnesota’s “Mr. Basketball” award in 2009 and a former Gopher ran into a litany of off-the-court troubles during his freshman season at the U of M, and left the Gophers’ team midway through the second semester. That latter part means that he is ineligible to accept any sort of scholarship for this season. He’s also academically ineligible.

White never played a game for the Gophers due to legal troubles and other difficulties. Coach Tubby Smith has not had any comment on the situation as of this point in time.
