46 Gophers Named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

The folks at GopherSports.com have released the names of the 46 University of Minnesota athletes that were named as Distinguished Scholars by the Big Ten Conference.

In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, an athlete must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Throughout the conference, 484 athletes received this distinction, covering 32 different sports across all eleven Big Ten schools.

Of the 46 Gophers named, six of them had perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Those six athletes were

-Addison Demer, Men’s Track and Field
-Kaylee Jamison, Women’s Swimming and Diving
-Ben Kuznia, Football
-Katie Ohm, Women’s Basketball
-Kathryn Ritter, Women’s Track and Field
-Mike Torchia, Men’s Track and Field
