Brett Favre, Brad Childress Didn't Talk About A Deadline During Mississippi Meeting

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress was in Hattiesburg, Miss., to meet with Vikings quarterback Brett Favre earlier this week, but they reportedly didn’t talk about Favre’s plans for the future.

Favre talked to USA Today about the meeting, but insists that he’s made no decision on whether to return to Minnesota next season.

“The deadline? I don’t know,‘’ Favre said. "There obviously comes a point where you’ve probably gone too far, where you just have to move on. He hopes I make the right decision for myself — one way or the other. Our visit was great. I think the world of him (and) his patience."

Favre also discussed how his ankle, the reason that his professional football future is in doubt, has been healing.

“After almost nine weeks, it’s not where I would like it to be, but I’m working at it,‘’ he said. "Maybe it never gets to where I want it to be. Forty years old … three surgeries … that’s all you need to know.’’

The Vikings open training camp July 30 with their season opener happening September 9 in New Orleans.
