Justin Morneau has turned down an invitation to participate in the 2010 Home Run Derby during the All-Star break, saying that he’d prefer to have the extra day off than to take part. I, personally, don’t blame him, as much as I might like to see him participate.
↵Morneau is tied for seventh in the AL with 17 home runs, but he’s only four behind league leader Jose Bautista.
↵Morneau won the Home Run Derby back in 2008, although hardly anyone remembers that year’s contest as anything more than “the year that Josh Hamilton went crazy and hit about 800 home runs.”
