Griffin Won't Play In Vikings' Season Opener

Cornerback Cedric Griffin won’t play in Minnesota’s season opener, says Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. The Star Tribune‘s Judd Zulgad notes that the team is trying not to rush Griffin back after the corner tore his ACL in last season’s NFC Championship Game.

For the moment, it appears Lito Sheppard is in line to replace Griffin at right corner, with Benny Sapp and Asher Allen also in the mix.
