Visanthe Shiancoe confirms that some players have learned from Favre he plans to retire. Shiancoe hasn't been told that yet by Favre.
You can expect the rest of the organization to say relatively little about this, because it seems clear that management on down still hopes to convince Favre otherwise. Still, though, if Favre could be swayed from this decision, then why would he make it in the first place?
