Chris Cook Tears Meniscus; Out For Opener

Vikings rookie CB Chris Cook, who had won the starting CB job opposite Antoine Winfield, will not make the start against New Orleans, as it was revealed he has a torn meniscus in his knee.

Now, a few days after a solid trade that brought wide receiver Greg Camarillo to Minnesota, CB has gone to a position perilously short on depth, as the VIkings traded veteran CB Benny Sapp to Miami to get Camarillo.

↵

With Cedric Griffin still on the mend, it looks like veteran Lito Sheppard will get the start, with Asher Allen moving into the nickel back role.

Sheppard has not looked impressive during the pre-season, and with New Orleans looming on the horizon, he needs to step up his game, and fast.
