Nine Players With Ties To Vikings On Preliminary Hall of Fame List

The preliminary list of 115 players and contributors that are eligible for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been released, and there are nine players with ties to the Minnesota Vikings on it. Those players, and the years they spent with the Vikings, are as follows:

K Gary Anderson (1998-2002)
DE Al “Bubba” Baker (1988)
S Joey Browner (1983-1991)
WR Cris Carter (1990-2001)
RB Roger Craig (1992-1993)
DE Chris Doleman (1985-1993, 1999)
OT Chris Hinton (1994-1995)
LB Darryl Talley (1996)
RB Herschel Walker (1989-1991)

Obviously, the biggest names of concern to long-time Viking fans are Carter. . .who should have gone in on his first try, and the fact that he still isn’t in is a joke. . .Doleman and Browner, three players that made their mark in the NFL in purple and gold.

The preliminary list of 115 players and contributors will be narrowed down to 25 by the Hall of Fame voting committee. The list of 25 will be announced in mid-November.
