Okay, I get it. It’s Charley Walters. His ‘little birdies’ have been pooping crappy stories for the St. Paul Pioneer Press since before I was born, because they’re just usually his musings of what he’d like to see happen…like him wanting the Vikings to sign Chris Weinke a few years back.
↵But Chas finally has some personal speculation that I can get behind—the Gophers pursuing Tony Dungy when Brewster gets fired at the end of the season.
↵And he mentions another great candidate that I hadn’t even thought of—Marc Trestman. Like Dungy, Trestman is a former Gopher quarterback and professional football championship winning coach, albeit of the Montral Alouettes of the CFL.
↵Hey, the Vikes hires a relatively obscure CFL coach awhile back named Bud Grant, and that worked out well, I’d say.
