Minnesota designated hitter Jim Thome passed a significant milestone on Saturday afternoon. His two homers against Colby Lewis and the Texas Rangers were numbers 583 and 584 of his career, moving him past Mark McGwire into ninth on the all-time home run list.
↵Thome now sits just two blasts behind Hall of Famer Frank Robinson, who is currently in eighth place with 586 career dingers.
↵Congratulations to Thome on this outstanding accomplishment. . .and for doing it while using significantly fewer performance-enhancing substances than the famous Athletics and Cardinals roid monster, among others.
