Could Cedric Griffin Play On Thursday Night?

Kevin Seifert of ESPN, through the magic of Twitter, is saying that it’s a possibility.

Minnesota DC Frazier refuses to rule out CB Cedric Griffin for Saints game. Could happen. Right now, #Vikings have 3 healthy CBs.

Griffin, who blew out his knee on the overtime kickoff of the NFC Championship Game, has been practicing with the team and, unlike WR Sidney Rice, was not placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, which would have caused him to miss the first six games of the season.

Right now, it would be sufficient to say that Griffin is a long shot. . .however, as Seifert points out, the Vikings do only have three healthy cornerbacks at the moment in Antoine Winfield, Lito Sheppard, and Asher Allen.

Just adds a bit more intrigue to Thursday night.
