Thome Hits Longest Ball At Target Field

New, 2 comments

If you can find highlights of Jim Thome’s home run against the Kansas City Royals this afternoon, make sure to watch it repeatedly.

In technical, baseball-type terms, Thome crushed the ever-loving hell out of a ball today at Target Field off of Royals’ right-hander Sean O’Sullivan. The Twins’ DH took a low, inside pitch, and hit it so far that it hit the top of the flagpole that holds up the American flag in right field.

The “official” measurement was 432 feet. . .however, Target Field personnel measured it at 480. Either way, it was an impressive blast.
