The Chicago White Sox, who looked like they might stay stride-for-stride with the Twins the rest of the way, have suddenly fallen off the pace, and Minnesota has been the beneficiary.
↵The White Sox lost their third consecutive decision to the Detroit Tigers today by a score of 6-3. Those three losses, coupled with Minnesota’s three-game sweep of the Royals, have helped the Twins increase their lead to six games in the American League Central.
↵The Twins had Thursday off to travel to Cleveland for a three-game set with the Indians. They’ll follow that up starting next Tuesday with their final three games against the White Sox. If things continue along their current tack, the Twins may be able to drive the final stake into the heart of the White Sox in that series.
