University of Minnesota Announces First Ever Goldy's Fun Run

The University of Minnesota has announced that the first ever Goldy's Fun Run around the campus of the University of Minnesota will be held on Saturday, April 9. The event is sponsored by the St. Jude Medical Foundation, and will include a 10-mile run, a 5K run and a 1K run for children. Proceeds will go to benefit the Amplatz Children's Hospital.

Anybody that is interested in partaking in the festivities can register themselves at the Goldy's Run website. Registration fees are $10 for the kids run, $25 for the 5K, and $45 for the 10-miler. All participants will receive a Goldy's Run t-shirt and a finisher's medal, as well as snacks and refreshments at TCF Bank Stadium, where the finish line will be located.

Despite nearly 13 years of military service, with a portion of many of those days being spent engaged in some sort of fitness-related activity, nobody has ever been able to convince me that the words "fun" and "run" should be used in conjunction with one another. But, hey, it's for a good cause, so I hope that lots of you check this one out.
