Unique Minnesota Sports Doubleheader Happening Tonight

So, you're down on the Timberwolves, the Wild don't hit the ice again until Tuesday, and you're looking for something to do this evening, are you? Well, as a Minnesota sports fan, you're in luck, as a couple of the Twin Cities' more "off the radar" sports teams will be taking part in a unique doubleheader this evening.

The Minnesota Swarm lacrosse team will be playing host to the Washington Stealth this evening at the XCel Energy in St. Paul, starting at 7:30 PM this evening. The lacrosse game will be followed up by a performance by the Minnesota RollerGirls, who will take on the Madison Dairy Dolls in roller derby action. The RollerGirls usually play their games at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium, but they're moving to the XCel Energy Center tonight in hopes of setting a record.

The Swarm and the RollerGirls will attempt to break the national attendance record for a roller derby event. The record currently stands at just over 6,000 and is held by Seattle’s Rat City Rollergirls.

Ticket price for both of these events is $20. Tickets can be purchased at either of the team websites (linked above), or at Shameless, Inc., Derby 4 All, and Electric Fetus. ("Electric Fetus?" Really? Okay, then.)

So, if you're jonesing for some sports action and wouldn't mind, possibly, being part of a record-setting crowd, make your way to St. Paul tonight to check out the festivities!
