In rookie quarterback Christian Ponder's first NFL start, the Minnesota Vikings picked up a win, beating the Carolina Panthers 24-21. Ponder's presence in the Vikings offense in the last two games seems to have sparking something, as they actually move the football and score points. Here's where the Vikings stand in the latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings.

25. Minnesota Vikings (2-6, LW: 29): In the battle of rookie QBs, Cam Newton beat Christian Ponder in the stats but Ponder gets the W as the Vikes beat the Panthers.

The Vikings had the second highest climb in the poll, moving up four spots.

NFL.com has released their latest Power Rankings, which saw the Vikings move up six spots from No. 28 to No. 22.

CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco has also released his NFL Power Rankings, moving the Vikings up to No. 25 from No. 28.

They have to be excited about the play of Christian Ponder. He plays smart like a veteran.
