Minnesota Vs. Michigan State Preview: SB Nation Blogs Look At Matchup

Michigan State fans are very confident heading into this weekend's Legends Division contest with Minnesota, but the Golden Gophers are coming in at their highest point on the season. Minnesota's late 22-21 win over Iowa has given the downtrodden program a much needed boost of momentum in an otherwise dreadful season, and now they will try to turn that momentum into a road upset.

Michigan State was the team with momentum last week. The Spartans were undefeated atop the Legends Division before scoring just three points in a road loss at Nebraska. Now, as The Only Colors notes, they must find a way to get back on track offensively:

Ah, the rebound game.  Like last year, Michigan State is coming off a definitive loss on the road back to East Lansing to play Minnesota.  Unlike last year, this Golden Gopher team has a bit of fight in it at this point, coming off a 22-21 win over Iowa last week in Minneapolis, whereupon they held onto Floyd of Rosedale.

For Minnesota, last week was about more than keeping a bronze pig. It was about seeing MarQueis Gray step forward as a leader for the program:

I don't know if beating Iowa (again) out-ranks beating Iowa the first time, but I'm sure winning back-to-back games over Iowa is pretty special, especially considering this was his offense doing it the second time.
