Christian Ponder Fantasy Projection, Week 13

Fantasy football owners should be cautious about playing Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder as he takes on a Denver Broncos defense that has made life miserable for quarterbacks the past few weeks.

Ponder, from Florida State will be in a familiar quarterback matchup with college rival Tim Tebow, but he should be far more concerned with Denver's rookie defensive terror, Von Miller. Miller has been listed as questionable for the game but expects to give it a go.

Ponder will also be without running back Adrian Peterson, giving the Vikings offense a different dynamic with bruising running back Toby Gerhart starting in AP's place. Last week, Ponder leaned on receiver Percy Harvin but was never able to get much going against the Atlanta defense.

According the Numberfire.com's projection for Ponder, fantasy owners should expect similar production against the Broncos. Numberfire projects Ponder to complete 16.9 of 28.19 passes for 200.52 yards and 1.08 TDs with 0.92 interceptions.

In other words, unless Ponder is your only option, you may want to look elsewhere for a starting fantasy QB this week.
