2011 National Signing Day: Where Minnesota Football Recruiting Stands As The Big Day Approaches

National Signing Day is an important day for College Football teams and fans alike every single year. It marks the day that the remaining unsigned prospects in the incoming class decide where they will be playing their collegiate football. Minnesota Football recruiting will be defined this season by how successful the Gophers are in getting some of their remaining unsigned interested prospects. By the time the day is over tomorrow, we should know a lot more about the future of Gopher football.

The University has done a good job of adding players to the recruiting class over the last few weeks that should improve the team's depth next year. The Gophers secured two more commitments after official this visits this weekend; Michael Amaefula, a three star defensive end from Texas, and Derrick Wells, a safety from Florida.

The biggest remaining prospect on the Gopher's radar is Chris Briggs. A big (in stature, not necessarily in ability) wide receiver from Louisiana who also made an official visit this past weekend.

We'll be updating this stream with updates on the Minnesota Football recruiting class as they unfold over the next few days. Keep checking back throughout the day on Wednesday for news on any potential signings by the Gophers.
