The Minnesota Golden Gophers' women's volleyball team has hired a new coach. . .and he's got some pretty impressive credentials.
↵Hugh McCutcheon has been named the new coach for Gophers volleyball, and he'll be taking over the team as soon as he finishes a minor commitment that he needs to take care of first. What is it? Oh, nothing much. . .he's just the coach of the U.S. Women's Volleyball team.
↵McCutcheon takes over for Mike Hebert, who retired in December after having coached the team since 1996. Hebert had led the Gopher women to one Big Ten volleyball title and three NCAA Final Four appearances.
↵Assistant coach Laura Bush. . .no, not that one. . .will lead the team until McCutcheon completes his work with USA Volleyball, at which point she'll continue as an assistant.
