After what seems like a six and a half month layoff, the Minnesota Swarm are back in action tonight against the Edmonton Rush. In reality, the Swarm have been off since their March 4th meeting with the Colorado Mammoth, in which the Swarm pulled out an exciting 11-10 victory to begin a two game winning streak.
The Swarm currently sit with a 5-4 record, good for second place in the West, with just three games remaining after tonight. The lowly Rush are just 2-9, and the Swarm could use a victory to push them closer to locking up a playoff spot.
While the Rush look to be an easy victory, the Swarm cannot afford to look past them to a nationally televised game on Sunday at home. The Rush's two victories game against the defending champion Washington Stealth. Coach Lines of the Swarm had this to say about the matchup:
“The bottom line is that they are fighting for their lives and regardless of what their record says right now, they are sitting in a playoff spot. This game is obviously huge for them and then they have a three-game series against Colorado coming up to determine the final playoff spot in our division.”
The game can be watched on MNSwarm.com, and starts at 8PM local time.
