Taking a brief look at the College Baseball Rankings are today, it doesn't appear that the defending Big Ten champions are getting a lot of respect. That's okay, because nobody else in the conference is, either.
↵Yes, according to the latest rankings, courtesy of Baseball America, there isn't a single Big Ten baseball team worthy of being ranked in the Top 25. To look at the rankings, you wouldn't think that baseball existed in American universities anywhere outside of the south and the west coast.
↵The Gophers aren't in the Top 25 in the NCAA Baseball Rankings. . .but, hey, a couple of teams they've played are! The Gophers started their season against St. John's University, who was in the Top 25 but dropped out, as a part of the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. They got thumped by St. John's 14-1. They bounced back, however, against Connecticut, who is currently ranked at number 19 in the country. The Gophers won that game by a score of 2-0.
↵None of Minnesota's future opponents for the 2011 season are currently ranked in the Top 25.
