The Minnesota Vikings announced their preseason slate today, assuming there is actually a preseason to be played in 2011. Here are their opponents:
↵Week 1: at Tennessee Titans
Week 2: at Seattle Seahawks
Week 3: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Week 4: vs. Houston Texans
You’ll notice that the NFL wisely decided to put the Vikings’ home preseason games in the last two possible weeks to maximize the time available to fix the currently collapsed Metrodome roof. It has been reported that it took some intervening from the NFL to get teams to actually agree to visit Minnesota for preseason games. Hmm, I wonder why?
↵The exact dates and times of each game have not been decided yet; those usually aren’t set until a few weeks before the games begin. According to Chip Scoggins of the Star-Tribune, the rumored dates are August 13th, August 20th, August 27th, and September 1st. Of course, we have to see if these games will be played at all, never mind the dates, which would be subject to change anyway.
