Minnesota Timberwolves 2011-12 Schedule Released Today

The 2011-12 NBA schedule has been released, despite the fact that the labor negotiations that the league is going through with its players are quite acrimonious at the present time. While we sincerely hope that the league does not miss any games, there is a very significant chance of that very thing occurring. But in the event that it doesn't, we can take a quick look at the Timberwolves' schedule for the upcoming season.

The Timberwolves are slated to open their season on November 2 at the Target Center when they play host to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks were the third-place team in the NBA's Southeast Division in 2010-11, and ended up capturing the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, where they defeated the Orlando Magic in six games in the opening round before falling in the conference semi-finals to the Chicago Bulls. They will play their first road game two nights later, when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers.

If you're wondering when you can see the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks, they will be making two appearances at the Target Center this season. The first one will come on December 23, and the other one will take place on February 3. Their 2010-11 NBA Finals opponents, the Miami Heat, will be making one appearance at the Target Center this coming season, and that will take place on March 13.

The holidays shouldn't interfere too much with your plans to watch the Timberwolves. The schedule does not have the team playing on Thanksgiving (November 24), Christmas Eve OR Day (December 24 and 25), New Year's Eve OR Day (December 31 and January 1), St. Patrick's Day (March 17), or Easter Sunday (April 8). The team is, however, scheduled to play on Valentine's Day, but it will be a road game in Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder. So, if you were wanting to take your sweetheart to a Timberwolves' game to show them how much you love them. . .which would certainly be a mixed message, to say the least. . .you have a bit of a road trip ahead of you.

The season for the Timberwolves is scheduled to conclude on April 18 at the Target Center when the team hosts the Indiana Pacers.
