Vikings Lead Seahawks 13-0 At Halftime

Thanks to a great deal of sloppiness by the Seattle Seahawks defense, the Minnesota Vikings added another field goal to take a 13-0 lead into the locker room at halftime of the second pre-season game of the year for both teams.

Christian Ponder took over at quarterback for the Vikings after a Ryan Longwell field goal put the Vikings ahead 10-0, and led a decent drive that started at the Vikings' 37-yard line. He made one particularly nice play, as he scrambled to his right to avoid the rush on a 3rd-and-4 play and hit Juaquin Iglesias running through the zone for a 19-yard gain and a first down for Minnesota.

The Vikings then got 20 more yards without doing a whole lot, thanks to a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Seahawks' linebacker Aaron Curry and an offsides penalty on defensive end Raheem Brock. The Vikings' drive stalled at that point, however, and they had to settle for a second Ryan Longwell field goal, this one from 34 yards out to give the Vikings a 13-0 lead.

We will continue our coverage of this one into the second half, ladies and gentlemen. We hope that you'll stay awake with us until this one is over!
