Texans and Vikings Scoreless After One Quarter

The Minnesota Vikings have almost all of their starters not playing, and Christian Ponder has had an uneven beginning as the Vikings and Texans have had a scoreless first quarter.

Ponder, who has missed a couple of open receivers, has looked good scrambling, and made a nice rollout throw and catch to Greg Camarillo, who is fighting for one of the final WR slots.

On defense, S Tyrell Johnson, who has been battling for the starting safety job with Husain Abdullah, dropped a sure interception as the first quarter was coming to an end, and I’m sure that didn’t fo anything to help him secure the starting job.

One player who has been ridiculous is punter Chris Kluwe, who had two punts in the first half. The first one he boomed and pinned Houston on their one yard line, and the second one he put inside the five, at the Houston three.
