Vikings Take 7-0 Lead To The Locker Room

The Minnesota Vikings, playing mostly second and third team players, have taken a 7-0 lead on Houston thanks to a 5 yard pass from Christian Ponder to Kyle Rudolph.

Ponder, who played the entire first half, had an up and down two quarters. He was a little high and wide on some of his throws, but he also made some nice plays out of the pocket, hitting Jaymar Johnson and Greg Camarillo on some nice roll out passes. Assuming Joe Webb plays the second half, Ponder finished the night 8-14 passing, for 69 yards and a touchdown. He’s also the Vikings leading rusher, getting 57 yards on 6 carries, all scrambles.

The scoring drive for the Vikings was an 8 play, 86 yard drive that was highlighted by a 33 yard run by rookie running back Alexander Robinson.

Jaymar Johnson, Greg Camarillo, and Kyle Rudolph each have two receptions to tie for the lead, and Johnson has the most yardage, with 28.
