Vikings Maintain 17-14 Lead Entering The Fourth Quarter

Although the San Diego Chargers controlled the third quarter statistically, the Minnesota Vikings defense came up big late in the quarter to allow the Vikings to hold on to their 17-14 lead.

After the Chargers scoring drive, the Vikings managed a first down, but the drive stalled and the they had to punt. Once again, San Diego marched down the field, going over 50 yards in 12 plays, but on third down a Philip Rivers swing pass was intercepted by All Pro defensive end Jared Allen, ending the drive.

The Vikings took over deep in their territory and managed to get a first down but when they broke out their Wildcat package, Joe Webb was stuffed on first down, Percy Harvin was stuffed on second down, and McNabb threw an incomplete pass.

The Vikings punted and pinned the Chargers back in their own territory, but San Diego is on the move again, as they just crossed the 50.
