Lou Nanne Commits to U of M

Here’s something from the ‘More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same Department’.

↵

Lou Nanne has committed to the University of Minnesota to play hockey.

↵

When I first read that, I thought that meant that North Stars and US hockey legend Lou Nanne was giving some big endowment to the U of M, but then I thought ‘Ted, you’re an idiot. Gotta be his son. That’s pretty cool, Lou Nanne’s kid is going to skate for the U, just like he did.’

↵

Yeah, try his grandson. Oh, Lou’s son Marty also skated for the Gophers, so I was right, just 25 or 30 years off or so.

↵

Yeah, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go feel sorry for myself for being so damn old.

↵

Lou Nanne had grandkids? Not possible, because just yesterday he was tearing it up for the North Stars, wasn’t he?
