The Minnesota Golden Gophers' hot streak turned cold in East Lansing, as the Michigan State Spartans defeated the visiting Golden Gophers with relative ease, 68-52 on Wednesday night at Jack Breslin Student Events Center.
Michigan State forward Draymond Green (22 points on 9-11 shooting, 14 rebounds, 6 assists) did all he could to end Minnesota's three-game Big Ten winning streak, and guard Branden Dawson added 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks for the Spartans.
Meanwhile, the Golden Gophers shot just 38.3 % from the field and they set a season-low with just 52 points.
Rodney Williams led Minnesota with 15 points, while Ralph Sampson added 10 points.
The Golden Gophers now have a couple days off before hosting the Illinois Fighting Illini (15-5, 4-3 Big Ten) on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. eastern.
