UFC on FX 5: Card for Minneapolis fights is final

The fight card for UFC On FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot is final and set for Oct. 5th in Minnesota.

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Last time the UFC ended up in Minnesota (read: the only time the UFC has been in Minnesota), plenty of significant things happened. Current Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones made his promotional debut, former Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (a Minnesota native) picked up his first UFC win, and Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre dominated Jon Fitch from start to finish. It was very much a one-sided beatdown, and the card itself was a exciting from top to bottom.

This time around, there's not that many big names, but it still promises to be an exciting night of fights. UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot is set for Oct. 5 from Minneapolis, MN, and will feature a heavyweight tilt between up-and-comer Travis Browne and preferential contender Antonio Silva in the main event. There's some other big fights on the card, including the co-main between Jake Ellenberger and Jay Hieron. There will be some local talent on display, when Marcus LeVesseur takes on Carlo Prater on the preliminary card, which will air on Facebook.
