As mentioned in tonight's recap, Michigan Tech freshman Alex Petan scored a Sportscenter Top Ten-worthy goal in the first period to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. After diving to keep a pass from going past him, Petan got back off his knees and beat Minnesota goalie Michael Shibrowski.
Petan's goal was similar to one Minnesota Wild prospect Mathew Dumba, playing for the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL, had earlier this month. In Dumba's case, the defenseman went from one end of the rink to the other but both
Petan's goal was the first of five for the Huskies as Michigan Tech defeated Minnesota 5-3 Friday.
