Rebekah Dahlman, the state of Minnesota's all-time leading scorer in high school basketball (boys and girls), has turned down an offer to play for the Golden Gophers, according to the Pioneer Press. The Braham High School senior also turned down Tennessee, and has narrowed down her finalists to Iowa State, Vanderbilt and Florida. She had 25 offers to chose from, and is expected to come to a decision sometime in the next few weeks. Dahlman is set to break the 5,000 point mark for her career sometime this season, barring injury or something else unexpected.
The Minnesota women's basketball team had its first winning season in three years in 2011, going 19-17 and winning the Women's Basketball Invitational. Dahlman would have been a huge pickup for the program, and most certainly would have helped to get the Golden Gophers get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008.
