The Minnesota Vikings are a 5.5-point favorite this weekend against the Tennessee Titans. The Vikings enter Sunday at 3-1 on the season, on the heels of surprising wins over San Francisco and Detroit. Tennessee, on the other hand, has struggled through a 1-3 start, and has been outscored 151-81 to date. Last week, the Titans lost 38-14 at Houston.
The total for the Vikings-Titans matchup has settled at 44 points, down a point from the opening line. Minnesota has struggled with the passing offense, averaging under 200 yards per game and ranking 26th in the league. However, Christian Ponder and his receivers will be up against a Tennessee defense that has allowed a whopping 285 passing yards per game. Minnesota's running game, ranked in the league's top ten, should also have success, as the Titans rank 25th in rushing defense. The best matchup might be on the other side of the ball , where Minnesota's pass defense faces a Titans offense that averages more than 245 yards per game passing.
The game is scheduled for 3:25 Sunday at Mall of America Field. Television coverage is available on CBS.
