2012 Big Ten Football Standings: Legends division still up for grabs

Minnesota can only hope to improve their potential bowl standing in their final game against Michigan State this Saturday.

Sitting at 6-5 on the season, the Minnesota Golden Gophers are bowl eligible as they head into the final weekend of the regular season to face the Michigan St. Spartans at home. Both teams are 2-5 in conference play along with the Iowa Hawkeyes, sitting four games behind the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan Wolverines for first place in the Legends division.

The Cornhuskers can clinch a spot in the Big Ten conference championship game with a win over the Hawkeyes on Friday afternoon, which means the Wolverines will know their fate before they face their rival, the Ohio St. Buckeyes, in Columbus on Saturday.

The Leaders division is already wrapped up. Although the Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions stand ahead of the Wisconsin Badgers in the division, they'reboth ineligible for the postseason. The Purdue Boilermakers and Indiana Hoosiers both sit behind the Wisconsin Badgers at 2-5 in conference play, while the Illinois Fighting Illini still have a doughnut in the conference win column in last place.
