Vikings sign Joe Banyard after Jordan Todman is signed by Jacksonville

Todman is headed to the Jaguars where he may be able to get some more playing time.

Ahead of their crucial game with the Green Bay Packers this weekend, the Minnesota Vikings are making a roster adjustment after practice squad running back Jordan Todman was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Vikings have added running back Jordan Todman, a rookie out of UTEP who has also spent time on the New Orleans Saints and Jaguars rosters this season.

The Vikings reportedly tried to retain Tolman once he got the offer from the Jaguars but with the Minnesota back field clogged up with good running backs, Tolman went to Jacksonville. He'd had a good preseason, including a 76 yard touchdown run at Houston but dealt with an ankle injury for much of training camp.

Banyard spent the preseason with the New Orleans Saints where he averaged 3.7 yards a carry. The Vikings will travel to Lambeau Field this weekend for a critical game with the Packers. The Vikings are tied with the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 6-5 overall but the Seahawks are currently clinging to the final NFC playoff spot.
