North Dakota State rushed 45 times for 218 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to defeat South Dakota State, 28-3, in the FCS playoffs on Saturday.
John Crockett led the Bison with 11 carries for 90 yards while Sam Ojuri added 19 carries for 65 yards. Ryan Smith and Brock Jensen each had a rushing touchdown for North Dakota State.
North Dakota State fell down, 3-0, after the first quarter but had three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 21-3 lead at half.
The Bison had the only score of the second half in the fourth quarter when Jensen connected with Garrett Bruhn in the end zone for the second time in the game on a 9-yard pass with 5:27 left.
Jensen was 15-of-25 passing for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Bruhn had two receptions for 21 yards and a pair of scores. Ryan Smith was North Dakota State's leading receiver with five receptions for 31 yards.
