The North Dakota State Bison advanced to their second consecutive FCS playoff championship game after defeating the Georgia Southern Eagles, 23-20, in the Fargodome on Friday night. It was a back-and-forth game for most of the night, but the Bison booked a ticket to the final after quarterback Brock Jensen scored on a draw play with about three minutes remaining.
The Bison will face the Sam Houston State Bearkats in the title game, after they won a crazy 45-42 shootout over the Eastern Washington Eagles. Sam Houston State had a 35-0 lead at the half, but Eastern Washington clawed back into the game in the second frame and forced one of the craziest endings in recent memory.
The matchup between NDSU and SHSU is a rematch of last season's title game, which the Bison won, 17-6. The game will be played on Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. in Frisco, Texas, and can be seen nationally on ESPN2.
