The Minnesota Timberwolves got back to work on Wednesday, but they were unsuccessful in their return, falling to the Houston Rockets, 87-84. J.J. Barea had 18 points, but James Harden had 30 for the Rockets. Kevin Love pulled down 12 rebounds, but Omer Asik pulled down 17 for the Rockets. Luke Ridnour had four assists, Chandler Parsons had five.
In other words, they were bested in all of the significant categories, and accordingly, they lost on the scoreboard.
Monday saw no action for any team on Christmas Eve, while Christmas Day saw 10 teams in action over five games. Of particular note included the Los Angeles Lakers making it back to .500 with a 100-94 win over the New York Knicks, and the same Rockets putting up 120 points on the Chicago Bulls.
Thirteen games were played on Wednesday alongside the Timberwolves' game. The San Antonio Spurs moved to 22-8 with a 100-80 victory over the Toronto Raptors, while the Washington Wizards dropped yet another game.
It wasn't quite a full slate of action as usual for the beginning of the week, but there was plenty to note. Check out the full scoreboard here.
