Two Minnesota Swarm Goalies Honored by League

For the first time in National Lacrosse League history, two goalies from the same team were honored in the same week. Minnesota Swarm goalies Tyler Carlson and Evan Kirk were both named players of the week by the NLL.

Carlson was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Kirk brought home Rookie of the Week honors. The two rookie goaltenders split starts this past weekend in a rare home doubleheader, with both goalies picking up wins.

From MNSwarm.com:

“Hopefully that’s hats off to all of our prescreening of all of our players and really doing our due diligence in the offseason to find not only what we would say are the best two goalies, but also the best two people,” Swarm Associate General Manger & Assistant Coach Joe Sullivan said of the two goalies receiving awards. “I think that you are going to hear a lot from Carlson and from Kirk amongst our other rookies throughout the year.”

The Swarm are sitting at 3-2 on the season, and are in second place in the West.
