Minnesota Vs. Nebraska Final Score: Golden Gophers Win 69-61

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (17-7, 5-6 Big Ten) stayed ahead of the Nebraska Cornhuskers (11-11, 3-8 Big Ten) in the Big Ten with a 69-61 win at Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Gophers shot a scorching 54.0 % from the field, and they were led by an unexpected star as backup sophomore guard Chip Armelin scored a career-high 15 points on 7-11 shooting along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Nebraska was held scoreless for more than five minutes in the second half as the Golden Gophers turned a tie game into a 48-39 lead, from which they would not look back. Minnesota has now traded wins and losses for five straight games.

The Golden Gophers finish their schedule by playing five ranked opponents in their final seven games, starting with a home date against the No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers (18-6, 7-4 Big Ten) on Thursday in a game scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. eastern.
