The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket was released on Sunday and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits were given a No. 14 seed. While not many will give them a chance, they could certainly become Cinderella in the coming weeks and wreck a few brackets across the country. If South Dakota State hopes to make a run, their trail to the Sweet 16 will not be easy.
Their first matchup will be with the Baylor Bears, who have the talent and skill to beat just about any team in the country. That being said, this team has a knack for falling asleep for periods of time and head coach Scott Drew does not exactly have the best track record in big games.
Should the Jackrabbits pull the huge upset, they would face either the UNLV Runnin' Rebels or Colorado Buffaloes in round three. The Rebels cooled off a bit down the stretch after once being projected for a No. 3 or 4 seed, while the Buffs made it by winning four games in four days at the Pac-12 Tournament.
The run to the Sweet 16 will not be easy, but every tournament needs a Cinderella. Why not South Dakota State?
