Bracketology 2012: South Dakota State Given 13 Seed By SB Nation

South Dakota State in their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance are being given a 13 seed in the first projections of Bracketology.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are in the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever thanks to an overtime win over Western Illinois in the Summit Championship.

The updated SB Nation Bracketology predictions came out Wednesday following the final tournament standings of Tuesday and South Dakota State are given a decent seeding for their first time, a 13 seed in the East bracket where they're slated to take on the fourth seeded Baylor Bears. That 13 seed is probably the best that the Jackrabbits can expect in most predictions, coming from a weak conference in their first ever tourney appearance.

There's still plenty of room for movement around the brackets with the conference tournaments still in full swing, and big conferences like the Big Ten and Big East still having plenty to play for.

Barring a miracle of a performance in the Big Ten tournament, the Minnesota Golden Gophers have just about no shot to make the tournament.

You can check out the SB Nation NCAA Tournament hub for more on the 2012 tourney.
