With practice beginning Sunday for the Minnesota Lynx, the team has released their 18-woman training camp roster. Because all five starters from last season's team, along with Amber Harris, are reporting late due to overseas commitments, the Lynx have invited five rookie free agents to fill out the camp roster.
The free agent rookies are Spanish forward Querald Casas, Conference USA Player of the Year Jasmine Lee, MAC Player of the Year Tavelyn James, Michigan State guard Porsche Poole and Brittany Rayburn, a 6-foot guard from Purdue. None of these players are expected to make the team because of the large amount of returning players for the defending champions.
Three of the Lynx's key reserves from last season-- guards Candice Wiggins and Monica Wright and center Jessica Adair-- will attend training camp, along with veteran guard Erin Thorn
who the Lynx signed as a free agent in the offseason. In addition, three of the six players the Lynx took in the WNBA draft will attend: Devereaux Peters, Julie Wojta and Kayla Standish.
