Presswire

After opening the season with a 105-83 pummeling of the Phoenix Mercury, the Minnesota Lynx will play the New York Liberty on Tuesday in their first road game of the season.

The 1-0 Lynx, who won the 2011 WNBA title, had six players in double-figures in their first game (and two more with at least eight points). Seimone Augustus, who led the team in scoring last season at 16.2 per game, scored a team-high 19 in the season-opener.

The Lynx's 2012 first-round draft pick, Devereaux Peters, scored three points off the bench. Minnesota's 2011 first round pick, Maya Moore, won Rookie of the Year honors last season after starting every game and averaging 13.2 points per. In the opener she had 13.

New York, the league's only 0-2 team, lost by 15 in its last game to Connecticut. Last season New York finished fourth out of sixth Eastern Conference teams.

Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM Central.
