Lynx Vs. Liberty: Minnesota Takes Home Second Victory Of Season With 80-62 Win

When a team widely considered the favorite to take the league title takes on a winless squad, even so early in a season, the expected result is a blowout for the title contenders (and title holders!) and the Minnesota Lynx did not disappoint on Tuesday evening. The 1-0 Lynx marched into New York to face the 0-2 Liberty and took home a second straight blowout victory, 80-62.

It was a slow start for the Lynx as they were able to just barely hold off New York to the point that the teams were tied midway through the second quarter at 29, but Seimone Augustus turned it on as she always does and started leading the team to bigger and bigger leads -- New York couldn't keep up since their quality of shooting was nowhere near as efficient. Minnesota ended up shooting over 50% from the floor while the Liberty were just over 33%.

The Lynx ended the game with four different players scoring 10 or more points. There were a few glitches in the game including an unfortunate number of turnovers and offensive rebounds allowed -- both 14 -- for the Liberty. Still, there will be no complaints about the record of 2-0 at the end of the day.
