The Minnesota Lynx are the defending champions in the WNBA so it probably shouldn't be surprising that they've begun the season with a pair of victories. It might not be quite as easy on Thursday night, however, when the Lynx host the also-undefeated Los Angeles Sparks.
The matchup to watch will likely be Maya Moore going against Candace Parker. They're two of the more recognizable players in the league and, as Lynx.com notes, they are both off to solid starts this season.
Lynx forward Maya Moore, 2011's Rookie of the Year, has started 2012 with a pair of impressive scoring performances, with 13 points against Phoenix in the season opener Sunday and 15 on 6-of-11 shooting against the Liberty in Tuesday's contest.
Sparks forward Candace Parker finished last season with 16 double-digit scoring efforts and has kicked off this season with two in as many games. Scoring 11 points on May 18 and 21 points on May 22 in the Sparks' pair of wins over the Storm, Parker is establishing herself as a key offensive threat for Los Angeles again this year.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff and can be watched on the WNBA LiveAccess channel.
