French Open Results: Serena Williams Upset By Virginie Razzano In First Round

On Tuesday afternoon, Serena Williams was upset by the Virgine Razzano in the first round of the French Open in what some are calling the one of the biggest upsets in the history of tennis. Williams, the No. 5 ranked player in the world fell to Razzano who is currently ranked as the No. 111 player in the world in three sets, losing 4-6 7-6(5) 6-3.

Williams won the first set with ease prior to falling apart in the tiebreaker portion of the second set, which saw Razzano rattle off six straight points to comeback from a 5-1 deficit to force a decisive third set. During a break where Razzano left the court to use the restroom, Williams was visibly seen crying into a tissue and talking to herself. It is the moment that many are pointing to in order to symbolize her erratic day.
