U.S. Open 2012 Leaderboard: Beau Hossler Struggles Late, Finishes Second Round At 3-Over

Beau Hossler grabbed the world's attention when he jumped out in front during the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open on Friday afternoon. The 17-year-old amateur was on top after the first nine, but then he faded down the stretch, struggling in the back nine and finishing the round with a 73, bringing his overall score to 3-over.

Hossler had a 35 after his first nine holes, including an impressive birdie on No. 17. He birdied again on No. 1, but then hit the first of four bogies on No. 2. His score suffered further with a double bogey on No. 4.

The high school golfer fell five spots on the leaderboard. He will have another shot to catch up on Saturday, finishing above the projected cut line.
